Sodcasting
Julian Treasure's coinage for imposing your sound on people around you carelessly and inconsiderately — broadcasting at full volume without regard for whether others want to hear it.
It's the volume failure mode within the vocal delivery toolbox. Some people sodcast habitually: phone calls on speaker in public, music bleeding from headphones, conversations loud enough to dominate a room.
Treasure's point isn't that volume is bad — loudness is a legitimate tool for excitement. Sodcasting is volume without judgment: no awareness of shared acoustic space.
